Ruixuan Li

Biography

Dr. Ruixuan Li is a full Professor of School of Computer Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, P. R. China. He is the Deputy Director of the Institute of Parallel and Distributed Computing, HUST. He is the Head of Intelligent and Distributed Computing Laboratory (IDC-Lab), HUST. He holds a B.S. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1997 and 2000 respectively, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same university in 2004, where he obtained the Excellent Ph.D. Dissertation Award. He was the visiting scholar of the University of Western Sydney (UWS), Australia, in 2005. He was the visiting researcher of the University of Toronto (UofT), Canada, from June 2009 to October 2010. He also holds an Adjunct Professor position at Concordia University and an Adjunct Senior Fellow position at University of Western Sydney (UWS).   Dr. Ruixuan Li's research is focused on cloud computing, big data management and analysis, distributed system security, information retrieval, data mining, and social network. He is the principal investigator for more than twenty research grants, which were supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), National Key Technology Research and Development Program, and National High Performance Computing Foundation of China. He has published over 100 papers in refereed journals and conferences, including ICDM, ICPP, USENIX LISA, ACM CCS, ACM SACMAT, ACM ASIACCS, IEEE TKDE, IEEE TCC, and JPDC. He co-authored two books as the first author, and holds 16 China patents of invention and 7 copyrights of computer software.   Dr. Ruixuan Li is a member of IEEE and ACM; is a senior member of China Computer Federation (CCF); is the Vice Director of Technical Committee of Open Systems of CCF, and Technical Committee of Office Automation of CCF; is a member of Technical Committee of System Software of CCF; is the Chair of Young Computer Scientists & Engineers Forum (YOCSEF) of CCF Wuhan; is the Director of Computer Society of Hubei Province. He also served as general co-chair of IEEE ACS 2013, WISA 2013, IEEE ACS 2012, program co-chair of GPC 2012, WISA 2012, SWON 2008, SWON 2007, workshop co-chair of ICESS 2012, publication co-chair of WISA 2014, program committee member of ACM SACMAT 2014, ADC 2014, ICC-CISS 2014, CSWS 2013, NAS 2013, TrustCom 2013, ADC 2013, WNM 2013, TrustCom 2012, ICESS 2012, STPSA 2012, WNM 2012, CollaborateCom 2011, TrustCom 2011, PICom 2011, CollaborateCom 2010, ICESS 2010, TrustCom 2010, PICom 2009, FCST 2009/2008, WISA 2009/2008/2007/2006/2005, CNCC 2005, organizing committee co-chair of DPCS 2002 and organizing committee member of WISA 2004.
