Biography
Dr. Sima Chaotan is a Lecturer in School of Optical and Electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a research scientist in Next Generation Internet Access National Engineering Laboratory. He graduated from Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK, with the PhD degree in optoelectronics. His research interests include integrated photonic devices, optical communication, and optical sensing. He is currently working on the fiber-optic multiple gas sensing networks, as well as planar Bragg gratings in all-optical signal processing. Dr. Chaotan Sima has authored/co-authored over 20 international publications, some of which are invited, from journals such as Optics Letters and Optics Express. He serves as a frequent reviewer of OSA technical journals. He has participated in the EPSRC research grants UK and the projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China. The research work has been reported and highly commended in many international conferences including ECOC, CLEO/Europe-EQEC, ECIO and IEEE MWP. He is also a member of OSA an SPIE.
