Biography

Yanhua Sun was born in Hubei, China, in 1979. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 2003, 2006, and 2010, respectively. He has been a visiting scholar of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). He is currently an Associate Professor with HUST. His current research interests include electromagnetic nondestructive testing technology and instrumentation. Recent publications include 1 book, 53 papers and 6 authorized patents, and recent projects include 7 ones supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Basic Research Program of China (NKBRPC), or Enterprise cooperation. Recipient of the first prize of Science and Technology Invention Award of Hubei Province, the Silver medal (gold medal vacancy) of HIWIN Doctorial Dissertation Award (bonus: 300,000 RMB, the geographic scope: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China), the National Excellent Doctorial Thesis nomination award, the Excellent Doctorial Thesis prize in Hubei province, the second prize of the Ninth session "The Challenge Cup" National University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Work Competition, the first prize of the fifth session "The Challenge Cup" University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Work Competition in Hubei Province, the Science and Technology Top 10 award of HUST (the Ninth session), Multiple Innovation Prize, Patent Award, Advanced Individual Award, Technology Achievement Award, Excellent Learning Award in Huake Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Ltd. Co. or HUST. Over 30 electromagnetic nondestructive testing instruments or apparatuses are developed by him and they are applied in practical engineering.
