Tang Xiahui

Biography

  Born in Nov. 1963, Dr. Tang Xiahui  is  now a professor and Ph.D. supervisor at School of Optical and Electronic Information, and vice director of  National Engineering Research Center for Laser Processing , HUST. He is also the executive member  of Laser Processing Committee of the COS, standing director of Hubei Machine Engineering Society, vice president of Hubei Laser Society and editor of Laser Technology. His main research fields are high power gas laser, integration of high power laser processing system and laser processing technology. He has special expertise on the field of the resonator technology in high power CO2 gas laser, new blower technology and gas flow field, RF gas electronics and charge characters and RF power technology. As the project director, accomplished one project in The Ministry of Science and Technology "Eleven. Five" science and technology project, one project in Hubei Province "Eleven. Five" key technology research project and other 10 projects at ministry-level. Taken charge (or participated in) nearly 60 important transverse projects from industrial companies. Within the field of high power and high beam quality CO2 gas laser and its application, he has achieved 5 items of ministry-level identification results, nominated to the first prize of National Advanced Science and Technology Award, Ministry of Education, 2004, as first accomplished person. He has won second prize of Hubei Advanced Technology, 2004. He has also acquired 3 state authorized patents, and is now declaring 5 state patents. He has published over 60 papers on important science journals at both home and aboard. He has wrote and published book Laser Welding Diamond Tool, 2004, and High Power Transverse CO2 Laser and Application, 2008.
