Biography
Yongbo Xue, received PhD degree from the Kunming Institute of Botany under the guidance of Professor & Academia Han-Dong Sun, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he studied the isolation and structural elucidation of NPs from plants. After finishing Ph.D. of Medicinal Chemistry, Dr. Xue has joined Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2011 and has worked on NPs right through his career. This started with triterpenoids, lignans, and followed by PPAPs, diterpenoids, cytochalasan alkaloids, and meroterpenoids. He has characterized 900 NPs (>330 new compounds) and authorized a number of reputable publications in Angew. Chem. Int. Edit., Chem. Sci., Org. Lett., J. Nat. Prod., J. Org. Chem., Org. Chem. Front., Rsc Adv., Euro. J. Org. Chem., Phytochemistry, Tetrahedron, Tetrahedron Lett., etc. Dr. Xue has been awarded as a young editor of the Chinese core journal of Nat. Prod. Res. Dev., and invited as reviewer for a series of international journals including J. Nat. Prod., Org. Chem. Front., Rsc Adv., Chin. Chem. Lett., Chem. Biodiversity, Helv. Chim. Acta., Food & Function, etc. His current interests include structure elucidation of NPs by spectral and computational methods, and NPs-based medicines research and development. Most recently, his research interest has broadened to NPs from terrestrial/marine fungi.
