Biography
Dr. Zhang is the associate professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on electrochemical corrosion mechanism of pipelines in the oil and gas fields, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and electrochemistry of nano-materials in energy storage applications. The aim of his research activities is to advance the understanding of materials corrosion and to develop the techniques in prevention and prediction of materials failure. He has published more than 50 papers in Electrochimica Acta, Journal of The Electrochemical Society, Corrosion Science,Materials chemistry and Physics, and so on. Presently, he is in charge of two projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, two projects supported by oil and gas fields, and one project supported by HUST. The major research interests include: Erosion-corrosion and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of pipelines under multiphase flow pattern Supercritical-CO2 corrosion of transportation pipelines in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Electrochemistry of nano-materials in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Energy Storage Applications
