Biography
Meng Zhang is a Research Scientist in IBM Research - China. He obtained his Ph.D. from Penn State University majored in meteorology, and has over 9 years professional experiences on weather dynamics, numerical modeling and their related industrial applications. Prior to joining IBM in 2010, Meng worked as a visiting scholar in NCAR (US) and CMA (China) for advanced weather model development, data assimilation and high-impact weather simulation. In IBM, Meng mainly works in the Energy&Utilities industry for the solution innovation and enhancement on those weather-sensitive tasks, e.g., renewable energy forecasting, wind farm and power grid weather risk management.
