Biography
I received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in 1993 and 1996 from Wuhan University, China, both in Computer Science and Engineering. I obtained the Ph.D. degree in December 2002 from University of Southern California (USC) in Electrical Engineering -- focusing on multimedia content analysis and management. I joined IBM Research in March 2003 and had been with various groups including the Exploratory Computer Vision Group, Service Operations and Analytics group, and Consumer Modeling Group. In May 2016, I joined IBM GBS and led cognitive solution design and development across various GBS towers. In July 2017, I joined the People Analytics & Cognitive Offerings department in IBM Human Resources. I'm currently the manager of Cognitive People Solutions team
Research Interest
content-based image processing, analysis and retrieval, video content segmentation, indexing and annotation, multimedia applications, data mining, statistical modeling, computer vision, service analytics, computational creativity, and cognitive analytics.
