Biography

Dr. Douglas Ness has been a practicing dentist for 24 years. A native of southern California, he graduated one of the top in his class at Loma Linda University. He went on to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia to complete an intensive residency in advanced general dentistry and hospital dentistry. Passionate about his career as a general dentist, he has completed over 2500 hours of advanced education in all areas of dentistry, especially orthodontics and implant dentistry. With this background, he loves to solve complex dental problems. Many times, he is called to rehabilitate patients with failing dental solutions. He is board certified in the United States in general dentistry (ABGD) and implant dentistry (ABOI). This intensive process of examination by his professional peers puts him at the very top of his profession. He has had the blessing to share his experience with his peers over the past decade by lecturing internationally on such topics as cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics and implant dentistry. He is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of China’s dentists to be the best ever in providing care to patients through his consulting company, Synergy Healthcare Consultants. He is the director of clinical education for SHC. Currently living in Shanghai with his wife, Flora and their Labrador retriever, Bella. He has two teen children pursuing their studies in the US. When time allows, they love to explore the wonders of China and greater Asia.
