Albert Lihong Zhou

Biography

I obtained my Medical Degree in China and was licensed as a clinician. After working as a Resident/Neurologist for a few years, I studied the effect of caloric restriction on insulin sensitivity in an adipocyte (3T3-L1) model for my Master Degree in Cell Biology. Then I obtained my PhD degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences at Utah State University.

Research Interest

My clinical interests include Functional Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  My research interests focus on how herbs, nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, bioactive ingredients may affect gut health, inflammation, obesity, and diabetes. My approach could be in vitro experiment, animal study, and human clinical trial.
