Biography
My scientific career began with a BSc followed by an Honours degree in virology working on alternative ways to improve isolation of influenza virus. I continued my PhD in immunology at Monash University, studying the immunomodulatory effect of adult stem cells on multiple sclerosis. Upon completion, I undertook my first post-doctoral training in the Department of Immunology, Monash University before taking up a position in WHOCC in the Doherty Institute. My research focus on understanding the effectiveness and mechanism of actions of influenza antivirals, and the correlation between in vitro and in vivo susceptibility of drug susceptible and resistant viruses. My research has led to more than 10 academic publications in international journals such as Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Journal of Immunology, Antiviral research, Antiviral therapy and PLOSONE.
