His main research focus is on Molecular epidemiology of human viruses (including HIV-1, HCV, EV71 etc.); Mechanism of HIV-1 recombination; Molecular evolution of viruses and their hosts, and genome research of human viruses Development of new diagnosis approaches for HIV-1 and other human viruses AIDS vaccine
