Biography

Prof. Zhongmin Su devotes himself to the research of functional material chemistry and quantum chemistry. In recent years, he has been dedicating to the researches combining experimental and theoretical work together, ranging from the design and synthesis of polyoxometallate materials, inorganic and inorganic-organic materials, and the photoelectric functional materials, theoretical investigations on nonlinear optical properties and weak interactions of inter-metals as well as the structure-property for novel nano-materials. He carried out a series of researches on the synthesis and optical properties of organic-inorganic hybrid materials, which has been fabricated as light-emitting device and electrode materials. A series of prepared polyoxometalates were applied to control the synthesis of carbon nano-tubes and nano-belts. The arget-specific nanoparticle-based conjugates with potential drug delivery, imaging and therapeutic applications in cancer have been designed. Synthesis of upconversion and near-infrared emitting nanomaterials involves also. Synthesized starch base graft copolymer absorbent materials have been widely used in the production in agriculture, forestry, grass planting and the planting of Chinese herbal medicine. Prof. Su has completed six projects from National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, and Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province. Prof. Su currently has six on-going projects from Cheung Kong Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, National Natural Science Foundation, Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province, and National “863” program. Since 2000, Prof Su has published more than 340 ISI papers, including Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.(4), J. Am. Chem. Soc.(2), Adv. Mater.(1), Chem. Eur. J., Chem. Commun., Inorg. Chem. and Nanotechnology. His papers have been cited over 2600 times.
