Biography
Fan Gang, Independent Non-Executive Director of Sinopec Corp., a PhD in economics. Mr. Fan is currently Vice President of China Society of Economic Reform, President of China Reform Foundation, Head of the National Economic Research Institution, President of China Development Institute (Shenzhen) and an economics professor at Peking University. He began to work for Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1988, and subsequently served as Director of Editorial Department for the Economic Research Journal from 1992 to 1993 and as Deputy Head of the Institute of Economics Chinese Academy of Social Sciences from 1994 to 1995. In 1996, he was redesignated to work for China Society of Economic Reform, and subsequently founded the National Economic Research Institution. From 2006 to 2010, he served as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of People’s Bank of China, and was recognized as one of the National Young and Middle-Aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions.
