Biography
PENG Hua, Professor of Botany and Curator of Herbarium of Kunming Institute of Botany (KUN). Major research interests include 1) classical taxonomy on Poaceae; 2) systematic study of several highly isolated taxa at higher ranks and characteristic elements in East Asia, such as Carlemanniaceae, Sladeniaceae, Monotropoideae (Ericaceae), Chelonopsis (Labiatae), Cichorieae (Asteraceae), and Amitostigma (Orchidaceae); 3) population genetics and phylogeography of endangered or evolutionary significant plant species, such as Dipentoden sinicus, Ellisiophyllum pinnatum, Sladenia celastrifolia, Craspedolobium unijugum and Chimaphila japonica; 4) floristic study on certain regions, especially those with transitional and typical flora, including Wuliang mountain, Xiaobaicaoling mountain, Yongde snow mountain, Jiaozi snow mountain, Cangshan mountain and northwest region of Yunnan.
