Biography
Born in 1945. Gi Xue received his B. Sc. Degree in 1968 from Nanjing University. In 1983 he received Ph. D. from Case Western Reserved University. He became professor of polymer department and state key laboratory of coordination chemistry in Nanjing University since 1988. He is the academic leader of polymer chemistry and physics division, and had been the dean of Polymer Science and Technology Department. Currently he serves as the member of polymer council of Chinese Chemistry Society; editor of Frontiers of Chemistry in China magazine. He is also the member of editorial board of Chemical Journal of Chinese University; Composite Interfaces; Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology.. Professor Xue's published SCI papers ranked 1st in China in 1994. He won the second prize of the State Natural Science Award in 2004 for the distinguished work in “Chemical and electrochemical polymerization of heterocycle compounds on metal surface” . His doctor students Shi Jin and Dongshan Zhou won the award of the 100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China in 2001 and 2005, respectively.
