Biography

Mu Wang received his B. Sc. Degree in 1984 from Physics Department, Nanjing University. In 1991 he received Ph. D. degree from Nanjing University. He has been in the position of professor of physics since 1995. During the period 1992-1994, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in Prof. P. Bennema's group at Nijmegen University, The Netherlands; during 1997-1998, he worked in the Center for Microgravity and Materials Research, University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA as a visiting scholar; During 2001.2-2001.6 he worked in Laboratoire de Physique de la Matière Condensèe, Ecole Polytechnique, France as a visiting professor. He received National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists from NSFC in 1994 and Chien-Shiung Wu Physics Award from Chinese Physical Society in 1992. Since 1999 he has been honored Cheung-Kong Professor of Physics of Nanjing University. Currently he serves as the director of National Laboratory of Solid State Microstructures; member of standing committee of Chinese Physics Society; member of standing committee of Chinese Crystallography; and Councillor of International Organization for Crystal Growth (IOCG). He is also the member of editorial board of Solid State Communication; Euro. J. Phys. Appl. Phys.; and Chin. Phys. Lett..
