Biography
Liu Xuan, born in 1963, is a professor of English. She received her Ph. D. in 2002 from Beijing Normal University. In 2005, she was invited to the Department of English UBC Canada, researching on literary theory as a visiting scholar for a year. From 2011 till 2016, she severed as a member of the Academic Committee of Liaoning University. Dr. Liu teaches graduate courses Western Classical Theory, Comparative Literature and Translation Theory as well as undergraduate courses Advanced English and Lexicology at LNU. She has been teaching in the Department of English since 1988. Her research areas cover literary theory and translation studies. In recent years she has finished a monograph, translated several books and poems from English into Chinese, and published at least 15 academic papers. Meanwhile, she dedicates to the interpreting and translation work of the annual Northeast Asia Forum organized by LNU and KFAS.
