Biography
YANG Li, PhD of Economics. Professor, Graduate Advisor and Associate Chair of Department of Finance in Liaoning University. Her research areas are Monetary Economics, international finance and financial supervision. Since 1985, Prof. Yang has been teaching and researching in the field of finance. Recent publications of 9 books and text materials include "China's Foreign Financial Development Strategy Adjustment and Optimization", “Monetary Economics”, “General Theories of Finance", "Case Studies of Financial Violations Prevention","Finance Theory Exam Practices and Reference", "Practical Financial Risk Management", "Marine Insurance”, and “Law of Negotiable Instrument Manual”, etc. Together with more than 50 papers published on magazines including “Financial Study”, “Financial Forum”, “China Human Resource Development”, “Economics and Management”, “Southern Finance”, “Wuhan Finance”, “Jilin Financial Study”, and “Heilongjiang Finance”, etc. Prof. Yang also hosted or participated more than 10 National or Provincial study topics and earned more than 20 national and provincial awards. In her research work, Prof. Yang made the most significant academic contributions towards China's monetary policies and international finance. For example, in monetary policy area, Prof. Yang published an artical “Effectiveness analysis of China’s monetary policies since 1998” in magazin “Financial Study”, Issue 11, 2004. This article analyzed the effectiveness of China’s monetary policies in detail, and listed the effectiveness affecting factors. In international financial research area, she researched on a long existing issue about China’s International import and export trade surplus and the inflation, and provided prospective conclusions on the relation in between. The paper “Pressure on inflation from international import and export trade surplus” that published on “Wuhan Finance” Issue 8, 2007, was quoted in full by Renmin University of China. Targeting at the global finance crisis in 2008, Prof. Yang spent almost 2 years on her monograph "China's Foreign Financial Development Strategy Adjustment and Optimization", which was published by Economics Science Publishing House in November, 2010. This book acutely pointed out the problems in current China's foreign financial development strategies, and stated the necessity and opinions on strategy adjustments. In her teaching, Prof. Yang has been teaching courses like"international finance", "Comparison of financial system in different countries", "Financial supervision theories and practices" to the graduate students from finance, international trading, world economics, financial engineering, policy finance fields. She was in full charge of teaching of the leading course in finance department, "Monetary Economics" for many years. This course from her was awarded "Top 10 flagship course" from Liaoning University. In 2008, this course was awarded as the universitywide demonstrative course. Due to Prof. Yang's outstanding work in both academic research and teaching, she was awarded "All-rounded best teacher", "Outstanding undergraduate teacher", "Model Employee", "Model Researcher", "My favorite teacher", "Outstanding female employee", "Shenyang model female", "Shenyang Huanggu model female", "Shenyang outstanding CPPCC member", "Outstanding member of Jiusan Society" etc. titles multiple times.
