Dwight M. Mitch Barns

Biography

 Dwight M. “Mitch” Barns, 53, is the chief executive officer and a director of Nielsen Holdings plc, a global performance management company that provides a comprehensive understanding of what consumers watch and buy. He joined Nielsen in 1997 and has served in various senior positions for the company in the United States, Europe and Asia.  He served as Nielsen’s president, global client service from 2013 to 2014, was president of Nielsen’s U.S. media business from 2011 to 2013 and was president of Nielsen’s Greater China business from 2008 to 2011. Mr. Barns was elected to the Monsanto board March 2016 and is a member of the people and compensation committee and the sustainability and corporate responsibility committee. Mr. Barns has been elected to a term that expires in 2018.
