Biography

Dou Long, Jiangsu Danzhou people; Ph.D., professor of plant pathology. January 1973 was born in Jiangsu Zhuozhou. Northwest A & F University Bachelor, Master, Ph.D. Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2003-2008 Postdoctoral fellow at Virginia Tech. In 2008 as a high-level talent was introduced to Nanjing Agricultural University. Now Nanjing Agricultural University, Professor of Plant Protection and doctoral tutor. In 2016, it was funded by National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation. Major Academic Achievements: Engaged in Phytophthora and plant interaction and regulation research, in recent years in Phytophthora effector identification, function and mechanism of action analysis and utilization of disease resistance has made outstanding achievements. It was found that Phytophthora infestans could produce a new type of effector via atypical secretion pathway and named it as atypical effector, which was a new type of pathogens of animal and plant pathogens. The function and mechanism of multiple effectors were analyzed, It is the first time to elucidate the host DNA active effectors in eukaryotic pathogens. The transfer process of Phytophthora infestans to host cells was systematically studied. A new theoretical model of effector transport was proposed and improved. Based on this, New Techniques of Crop Disease Resistance Molecular Breeding for Pathogen Effector Transport and Function. The findings deepen the understanding of the pathogenesis of crop blight pathogenesis and lay a theoretical and material foundation for the control of related diseases.    Presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the national new varieties of genetically modified major projects and other competitive topics more than 10 items. Published more than 70 papers published papers cited more than 2000 times. Authorized China and the United States 3 patents. Repeatedly invited to conduct academic reports at home and abroad. He won the First Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education (ranked second), the Ministry of Education, "New Century Talents," "Outstanding Youth Fund of Jiangsu Province" and the China Science Newspaper "Youth Science Star" and other grants and rewards.
