Biography

Professor Cheng Rongshi was born in Yixing of Jiangsu Province.  DOB is Oct. 18, 1927.  He graduated from the University of Nanking at 1949 with B. S. degree and from the Graduate School of Chemistry of Peking University at 1951 with diploma.  He worked at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1952 and moved to Nanjing University at 1983 as Professor. He holds a part-time Professor of South China University of Technology since 1995. In 1991, Professor Cheng been elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences which is the highest academic title and an honor of lifelong tenure conferred by the State in science and technology circles.
