Biography
Zheng Hu was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu in 1964. He attended Nanjing University for his undergraduate and postgraduate education from 1981 to 1991, and earned his BS, MS, PhD degrees in Physics. After two-year’s postdoctoral research in Department of Chemistry, he assumed an Associate Professor position in 1993 and Professor position in 1999.This research by definition is highly interdisciplinary. As the principal scientist, he has finished more than 15 research projects with honor. In 2005, he got the highly competitive NSFC fund for outstanding young scientists of China. Four doctors have completed their postdoctoral research in his group and more than 15 postgraduate students have obtained their PhD and MS degrees under his supervision. To date, Hu has published more than 100 papers in peerreviewed journals and is the principal inventor on 11 Chinese patents. These academic achievements have been recognized by more than 15 invited talks in international and national conferences, more than 300 positive citations, website comments and several academic prizes awarded by different organizations. He is the standing council member of Chinese Vacuum Society, council member of Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology, and council member of several other associations. He serves on the Editorial and Advisory Boards of four international and national science and technology journals, and also as the reviewer of several high reputation journals such as JACS, Adv. Mater., J. Phys. Chem. B. Now he is the Director of the Key Laboratory of Mesoscopic Chemistry of MOE, and the Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Lab for NanoTechnology.
