Pete M. Barbera

Biography

 Pete Barbera is a Director in the Finance and Accounting practice bringing more than 15 years of experience including time spent in both the professional services and private sectors.  He has extensive experience in all aspects of accounting operations and policy, with a focus on capital market functions including debt, derivatives, foreign currency transactions and the application of SFAS 133, SFAS 142, SFAS 157 and FIN 46(R). Prior to joining Navigant, Pete was the Director of Derivatives Accounting at Fannie Mae, responsible for the accounting, financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance of the Company’s derivative position, as well as, leading key restatement efforts.  Prior to Fannie Mae, Pete was a member of the Consumer Finance Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP for approximately 4 years.  At PwC, Pete performed various audit and business advisory services for large financial service companies including audit management of the capital markets function, model validation projects, SFAS 133 and SFAS 140 related projects, and IT projects.  Pete also spent 6 years working in the accounting departments of HomeSide Lending, Inc. and Alliance Mortgage Company.
