Biography
Former Principal Investigator at the Peking-Tsinghua Center for Life Sciences, Peking University, and former Vice President at BGI. With over a dozen years of experience and best known for developing the software SOAP (Short Oligonucleotide Analysis Package) for ultra-fast sequence mapping, variation detection, and de novo genome assembly, Dr. Li is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in genomics and bioinformatics, owning 12 patents and authoring over 90 peer-reviewed publications – 30 in Science and Nature series – that are cited over 15,000 times.
