Yung-fachen

Biography

Dr. Chen has over 25 years of experience in the management of chemical & pharmaceutical businesses with in-depth experiences in strategic planning, chemical and pharmaceutical R&D, supply chain management, quality control and assurance, cGMP compliance and formulation development. Dr. Chen joined ScinoPharm since 1998 and has held various management positions of increasing responsibilities. He became Sr. R&D Director in 2002 and was later promoted to Vice President of Advanced Technology Development in 2003. He was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of ScinoPharm Kun-Shan Biochemical in 2006, and since then has demonstrated outstanding results in building up our operation base in China with a skilled local team, which provides a firm foothold for our expansion in China and eventually becoming the backbone team of the current ScinoPharm’s Changshu site. In 2009, he was promoted to Corporate Vice President of R&D, overseeing the overall operations and management of the R&D teams in both Tainan and China. In 2012, he was further promoted to Senior Vice President of R&D and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining ScinoPharm in 1998, Dr. Chen was employed for 7 years in the Refining and Manufacturing Research Center of Chinese Petroleum Corporation (CPC) where he worked on specialty chemical products and in process R&D. Before CPC, he was an adjunct professor of Chemistry at Tunghai University in Taiwan for 5 years, and at Wayne State University as a postdoctoral fellow of Medicinal Chemistry for two years. Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wayne State University, a M.S. in Chemistry from National Taiwan University, and a B.S. from Tunghai University. Dr. Chen is the holder of eighteen patents.
