Biography
CHEN Shupeng Geographers, Cartographer, Expert in remote sensing mapping, Chinese Academy of Sciences member He graduated from Zhejiang University, Department of History in 1941, and then he received a master degree from Zhejiang University, the institute of History in 1947. He is the academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, academician of International Eurasia Academy, and academician of the Third World Academy. His research areas include GIS, remote sensing and cartography. Professor Chen Shupeng was the creator and founder of remote sensing application and geographic information system in China. He established the institute of remote sensing application, Chinese academy of sciences and the state key laboratory of resource and environment information system.
