Biography
LIU Xiaolong is a Professor of Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, hanghai, China. Research Areas thymocyte; TCR gene recombination; CD4/CD8 lineage differentiation; T cell activation and function; Tanscription Factors; DNA methylation; histone acetylation; non-coding RNA; Transgenic and knockout mice Research Interests: His lab is interested in the molecular mechanisms of thymocyte development, including (1) how the ordering and allelic exclusion of T cell receptor (TCR) gene recombination are achieved, (2) how TCR signaling and its downstream effectors control positive/negative selection and (3) how transcription factors determine the CD4/CD8 lineage commitment. We are also interested in how peripheral T cells collaborate with other immune cells to control immune response. Currently, our research approaches include biochemical, molecular biological and immunological techniques, large-scale gene expression profiling and analysis of transgenic and knockout mice.
