Biography
PEI Gang is a Professor of Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, hanghai, China. Research Areas: G protien coupled receptors; beta-arrestins; signaling regulation; protein interaction; epigenetic regulation; Alzheimer´s disease; diabetes; autoimmunity. Research Interests: Our recent findings and reports from other groups demonstrate that βarrestin-mediated signalsomes and epigenetic regulation are of vital importance to GPCR-mediated signal transduction and consequent biological function of cells. Thus our future studies will focus on: 1. GPCR signaling and its cross-talk with other cellular signal pathways; 2. the epigenetic regulatory mechanisms of GPCR signaling and potential roles of GPCR signalsomes in important biological processes closely regulated by epigenetic events, including the development of embryonic stem cells, the reprogramming of somatic cells and etc.; 3. roles of GPCR signaling in the initiation, development, prevention and treatment of diseases, such as Alzheimer’s diseases, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders.
