Hailong Liu

Biography

I am a special scientist in physical oceanography from Shanghai jiaotong Univeristy (2015-present). I received my Ph.D. in physical oceanography from University of Maryland at College Park, and then conducted research in NOAA/AOML as a postdoctoral researcher (2009-2012) and senior research associate (2012-2015). I have been actively involved in a series of research projects on oceanic mixed layer properties, Atlantic Warm Pool variability and its climate impacts. My ongoing research particularly focuses on the tropical cyclones intensity in the future projection.
