Biography
Yang Shengli is an expert of medical biotechnology. He was born in 1941 and graduated from East China University of Science and Engineering in 1962. Now he is professor at the Medical College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, director of the National Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes, senior researcher in Shanghai Research Center of Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and supervisor of PhD students. He was elected member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997, and is member of the National Experts Committee in high technology area of biology and modern agriculture. Professor Yang has devoted himself to antibiotics and bacterial resistance research. He researched on molecular pharmacology, microbial hemoglobin gene, genetic engineering and protein engineering of enzymes. He made great contributions to the development of medical biotechnology. In recent years he had been engaging in function genomics.
