Biography
Dr. Xiaopei Liu received his Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010. He then moved to Nanyang Technological University as a research fellow. His current research interests cover the multi-disciplinary area among computer graphics, fluid dynamics, scientific visualization and GPU-based parallel computing. Previously, he did work on image analysis and synthesis. Then, he intensively collaborated with researchers from fluid mechanics and physics fields for both applied and theoretical scientific research. His publications include journals across different disciplines, such as ACM Transactions on Graphics, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, AIP Physics of Fluids, as well as APS Physical Review D. Xiaopei Liu joined SIST of ShanghaiTech University as a tenure-track assistant professor, PI in June 2015.
Research Interest
Dr. Xiaopei Liu's current main research covers the computer graphics based fluid flow simulation and visualization, visual analysis for turbulent flows, meshless methods for fluid flows, GPU-based parallel computing for scientific visualization and simulation, as well as some image-based analysis and applications, etc.
