Biography

Dr. Xiong Wang has received the master degree from Clemson University, Clemson, USA, in 2009 and the Ph.D. degree from The University of Arizona, Tucson, USA, in 2014, both in Electrical Engineering. From November 2014 to May 2015, he has been working as a postdoctoral research associate at The University of Arizona. He received the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Doctoral Research Award 2012-2013. He has joined the School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University, China, as an Assistant Professor, PI from June 2015. His research interests include: thermoacoustic imaging for breast cancer detection, microwave hyperthermia for breast cancer treatment, compressive sensing, electromagnetic interaction with human and biological tissues, antenna design for wireless communications, etc.

Research Interest

Dr. Xiong Wang’s research interest is mainly in applications based on the thermoacoustic effect, such as thermoacoustic imaging for breast cancer detection, thermoacoustic imaging based on compressive sensing, thermoacoustic communications from air to underwater, foreign body detection, microwave hyperthermia for breast cancer treatment. His research area also includes electromagnetic interaction with human and biological tissues and antenna design for wireless communications, etc.
