Biography
Amy Becker was the director of the writing program and senior lecturer at NYU Shanghai. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, she was lecturer in the NYU expository writing program and critical thinking and writing instructor for NYU Abu Dhabi's Summer Academy. During her tenure as a lecturer, Becker worked in the areas of writing in the disciplines, ELL academic writing, peer tutor training, and faculty development. In addition to her work in New York City and Abu Dhabi, Becker has led workshops in journalism at the NYU Ghana academic center and on behalf of NYU in, Russia. She holds an MA in journalism from New York University and a BA from the University of Minnesota. Becker has presented work on writing centers and peer tutoring programs at Northeast Writing Center Association conferences and is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs.
