Biography
Ann Chen is a Visiting Assistant Arts Professor at NYU Shanghai. She is a Brooklyn based artist and filmmaker whose work explores intersection of the built and natural environment through photography, film, writings, sound recordings and maps. Chen was an inaugural Fulbright National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellow (2014-15), visiting research fellow at the University of Alberta in English and Film Studies, UnionDocs Collaborative Studio Fellow(2015-16), Sprint fellow at The Public Laboratory for Open Technology and Science(2016) and received an Eco-Leadership grant from Fulbright Canada (2016). Her writings have appeared in After Oil (2016) and in National Geographic Voices blog (2014-15).
