Biography
Qian Zhu was a Global Perspectives on Society Teaching Fellow at NYU-Shanghai. She taught GPS recitation classes and will offered a J-term course called "China for Sale" in 2017 at NYU Shanghai. Before working at NYU-Shanghai, Qian was an assistant professor in History at Wabash College. As an NYU alum, she received her Ph.D in history from NYU at NYC. Her research and teaching interests include modern Chinese history, everyday life, feminism and gender in modern China and social theory. Her publications on modern Chinese history, Chinese feminism, and mass education appeared in Modern China Quarterly, Review of History and Political Science, China Review International, and Journal of Chinese History. Currently, she is working on a book: Producing Modern Life in China: Democracy and the Everyday, 1920-1936.
