Roderick Hills

Biography

Roderick Hills, Jr., is an affiliated professor at NYU Shanghai. He is also the William T. Comfort III Professor of Law at New York University School of Law. He has taught at the University of Michigan Law School, Stanford Law School, Columbia Law School, Harvard Law School, and Yale Law School. He holds a JD and a BA from Yale University. Hills’s research interests concern constitutional law and federalism, local government law, land-use regulation, and administrative law. His work has appeared in the Harvard Law Review, Michigan Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and the Supreme Court Review, among other publications. Hills is a member of the New York Bar and has served as a cooperating counsel for the ACLU of Michigan. Hills was the winner of the Paul M. Bator Award for significant public impact through scholarship, excellence in legal scholarship, a commitment to teaching, and a concern for students.
