Biography
Jingsong You grew up in Chongqing, China, and later attended Chongqing University in 1985-1989. Then he worked in the Chengdu Chemical Fertilizer Company in 1989-1992. In 1998, he received his PhD from Sichuan University. He then worked as a post-doctoral fellow or a research scientist at National Chung-Hsing University (Taiwan), Institute für Organische Katalyseforschung (Germany), Iowa State University (USA), and University of California, Irvine (USA). In 2004, he joined the chemistry faculty of Sichuan University as a full professor. Now he is the vice dean at the College of Chemistry.
Research Interest
His research interests focus on developing new concepts and strategies to synthesize versatile heteroarenes, especially via the transition metal catalyzed C-H functionalization of heteroarenes, and exploring their applications in the synthesis of fluorescent materials dependent on supramolecular self-assembly, and total synthesis of heteroarene-containing natural products.
