Biography
Prof. Xun Sun received her B.S. degree from West China University of Medical Sciences in 1996 and PhD in Pharmaceutics from Sichuan University (Chengdu, China) in 2005. From 1996 to 2000 Dr. Xun Sun was a clinical pharmacist in Zhujiang Hospital (Guangzhou, China). Since Sept 2005, she was a postdoctoral researcher mentored by Dr. James Wilson in The University of Pennsylvania (USA). From Feb. 2007 to Sept 2008, Dr. Xun Sun was working in the college of Pharmacy at The University of Michigan (USA). From Sept 2008 till now, she is a faculty member at Sichuan University. She has also been appointed as a Visiting Fellow by the University of Central Lancashire (UK). Prof. Sun’s current research centers on the targeted drug delivery systems and the delivery of biopharmaceuticals. She has strong expertise on pharmaceutical formulation using micro- and nano-particulate drug delivery systems for the delivery of macromolecules such as proteins, genes and vaccines. Prof. Sun has authored or co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed papers and contributed chapters to 3 books. Dr. Sun was honored with the Nagai Foundation Tokyo international scholarship in 2005. She received the first and third Prize of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Improvement Prize in 2011 and 2006. She serves as the editorial board member of J. Controlled Release and the member of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission.
