Biography
Professor Wang has been working at South China Botanical Garden, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (previously named South China Institute of Botany, CAS) since 1996. He is a taxonomist of the vascular plants, especially in the family Rubiaceae. Modern molecular techniques were also apllied in his research for analyzing the phylogeny of Hedyotis L., Leptodermis Wall., and Spiradiclis Bl., etc. Moreover, he usually undertakes some projects on introduction of some ornamental, economic, and medicinal plants. As a taxonomist in South China, he is also in charge of some field investigation projects for the conservation of rare and endangered plants.
