Biography

Chen Zhiyi, male, Han nationality, born in October 1956, Zhejiang Tiantai people, in July 1987 to participate in the work, doctor of science, doctoral tutor, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the first batch of "thousands of people plan to win" by the national experts title. Former vice president of Peking University, Graduate School Dean. January 1978 to January 1982 in Zhejiang University Department of mechanics study, received a bachelor's degree. From 1982 to 1987, he studied at the Department of Mechanics, Peking University, and received master's and doctoral degrees. From 1987 to 1990, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States. From 1990 to 1997, he was the director of the research group of turbo and lattice gas in Los Alamos National Laboratory. From 1997 to 1999, he served as deputy director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory Nonlinear Research Center. From 1999 to 2002, he was a professor of mechanical engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Since 2001, he has been the director of the Science and Engineering Computing Center of Peking University. From 2002 to 2005 Johns Hopkins University Department of Mechanical Engineering Department, served as Professor. From June 2005 to July 2013, he was appointed Dean of Peking University. Since January 2011, he has been the dean of the Graduate School of Peking University. Since September 2013, he has been Vice President of Peking University and concurrently Dean of Graduate School. In January 2015, he served as president of Southern Science and Technology University.
