Biography
Dr. Yu Peng, who obtained undergraduate and master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University in 1997 and 2000, received a doctorate degree from the Department of Physics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003. After graduation, he worked briefly at the City University of Hong Kong and subsequently worked as a Humboldt scholar at the University of Darmstadt for nearly two years. 2006 - 2012 was appointed as a senior researcher at the University of Queensland, Australia. In 2012, Queensland International Fellowship visited the Fraunhofer IFAM Institute in Germany for five months. In 2013, he became an associate professor at Southern University of Science and Technology. 2013 was selected in Shenzhen City, "Peacock Plan" B class talent. Dr. Yu Peng is committed to the study of powder metallurgy based on light metal and its alloys, metal matrix composites and porous metal materials, and studied the practical technology with industrial application prospects such as rapid powder injection molding and 3D printing. Has published more than 40 articles in international journals, and has participated in international conferences and academic reports. Has applied for more than 20 inventions and utility model patents.
Research Interest
light alloy and its composite materials, powder metallurgy. Focusing on powder injection molding (PIM) and 3D printing two advanced powder metallurgy technology for material development.
