Biography
Chunshun Zhao, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Pharmaceutics.He received his BS in pharmacy from the Hebei Medical University in 1995 and his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in 2003. Upon obtaining his BS, Dr. Zhao joined the Pharmaceutical R&D Division of Hebei Pharm. Co. Ltd.(then CSPC Pharma.) and engaged in research projects in the new drug delivery system and the product development. Since joining the Sun Yat-sen University School of Pharmacutical Sciences in 2003, Dr. Zhao has received more than 40 research grants/contracts as principal investigator. He has more than 40 scientific publications and 10 patents or patents pending. Following a one-year visiting scholrship in the Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics at Eshelman School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010.
Research Interest
Zhao’s current research focuses broadly on 1) the development of non-viral vectors for drug/gene therapy, and receptor mediated drug and vaccine targeting using self-assembled nanoparticles; 2) drug polymorphism and dosage form design.
