Biography
Delin Mo is the Associate Professor of Animal Genetics and Breeding at the State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol. Dr. Mo’s professional training started with animal breeding and husbandry degree, followed by research in animal functional genomics and molecular breeding (doctorate and postdoc). As a Visiting Associate Professor of Cornell University, he developed efficient methods for generating mouse induced pluripotent stem cells. His overall goal in research is to enhance animal productive efficiency and improve meat quality and thereby to understand the molecular regulation of growth and development in animals. His group pursues this goal at molecular, cellular and organismal levels in the context of problems relevant to animal agriculture as well as human biomedical research. At present, his research efforts are focused on 2 specific areas. (1) Uncovering molecular mechanisms for difference in meat production, intramuscular fat content between animal breeds of the same species. (2) Exploring basic biology of the relationship between skeletal muscle, adipose tissue development and immunology. Dr. Mo teaches the animal breeding and reproduction
