Biography
Gui Lu, Professor in Medicinal Chemistry. She studied chemistry at Zhejiang University and later worked in Zhejiang University for several years. In 2003 she completed her PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the supervision of Professor Albert S. C. Chan. After that she was a postdoctoral fellow at the same university for one year. From 2005 to 2006 she was a Humboldt Research Fellow at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg under the supervision of Professor John A. Gladysz. From October 2006 she worked in Institute of Medicinal Chemistry of Sun Yat-sen University as a full Professor. She has published more than 40 papers, including the well established journals such as Chem. Eur. J., Chem. Commun., Angew. Chem. and J. Am. Chem. Soc.
Research Interest
(1)Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of new antiviral drugs and anticancer drugs; (2) Development of new catalytic asymmetric reactions; (3) Development of new synthetic methodology and their applications to synthesis of biologically and pharmaceutically important molecules.
