Heqing Huang

Biography

Heqing Huang, MD, Professor and Chief Physician, Director of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Research Institute, and deputy director of Experimental Animal Center of Sun Yat-sen University. He received his MD from Chengdu University of TCM in July, 1998. He was a postdoctoral fellow in Sun Yat-sen Medical University, which is now School of Medicine, SYSU from September, 1998 to July, 2000. During August, 2000-September, 2002, he took the clinical work for the treatment of diabetes and cardio-cerebrovascular disease by integrated Chinese and western medicine in Guangdong research institute of Chinese medicine and the No. 2 Guangdong Provincial People Hospital. Since October 2002, he has engaged in the teaching, researching and curing of pharmacology and integrated Chinese and western medicine in college of pharmacy, Experimental Animal Center and the third affiliated hospital of SYSU. His main research interests are the pharmacology of Chinese medicine and the using of integrated Chinese and western medicine for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and endocrine diseases. He has accomplished lots of research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Major Science and Technology Project, and Guangdong Natural Science Foundation. Until now, Dr. Huang has published about 100 scientific papers in both home and abroad issues. In recent years, as a corresponding author, he has published over 20 papers related to diabetes (diabetic nephropathy) and angiosclerosis, which are embodied by SCI. The new Chinese medicine, Tang Mai Jiao Tao capsular, using in type 2 diabetes combination with hyperlipidemia was invented by Dr. Huang, has recieved the clinical trial approval from SFDA and is upon completion of phase â…¢ clinical trials.
