Biography
Ph.D., Associate professor in the institute of Human Virology, Zhangshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Wuhan University in 2005 and completed his postdoctoral training at University of Pennsylvania and Florida State University in 2005-2010. During 2010-2012, he worked as research associate in Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in La Jolla CA. He has revealed (1) the roles and the mechanism of sustained activation of ERK-RSK by KSHV ORF45, and the translational control of ORF45-RSK signaling in KSHV infection, (2) the functions of RNF5 in autophagy and importance of RNF5-autophagy against bacterial infection. In 2012, he joined Zhangshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University as Associate professor of “100 Top Talents Program”. He has published more than 20 articles as first or senior author in international journals, including Trends Biochem Sci., PLoS Genet., J Virol., J Biol Chem., with an accumulative impact factor of 50.
Research Interest
(1) The inflammatory responses and autophagy in infection and pathogenesis of γ-herpesvirus (EBV and KSHV), (2) The functions of RNF5 in viral infection and innate defense.
