Biography
Associate professor of Stem Cell Biology and Tissue Engineering. After graduating from Guanghua School of stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University in July 2003, he studied in the Center for Stem cell Biology and Tissue Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences for his Ph.D. from 2003 to 2009. He was promoted to an associate professor in Jan 2012. His research mainly focuses on the mechanism of neural crest differentiation from pluripotent stem cells. The main research findings of his group include: a. Derivation of human disease specific iPS cell lines from patients of Down syndrome, DMD, CMT as the in vitro disease model to explore the pathogenesis of the disease; b. Construction of modular lentiviral vectors by MultiSite gateway technology, which is an ideal tool for enrichment of target cells from differentiated cell population and tracking the stem cell behavior in vitro and in vivo. So far, he has got more than ten papers published and his research was mainly supported by two grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
