Biography
Dr. Lihe Lu is an associate professor in Pathophysiology in Zhongshan Medical School at Sun Yat-sen University (SYU). Lihe Lu obtained her bachelor's degree in Biology from Wuhan University in 1999 and read a master’s degree in Molecular Biochemistry at Peking Union Medical College, where she graduated in 2002 from Fu Wai Hospital. In July 2002, she moved to Sun Yat-sen University and joined the Department of Pathophysiology in Cardiovascular Medicine to strengthen her interest in Molecular Cardiovascular Biology. In 2008, Lihe Lu was awarded her PhD degree in Cardiovascular Pathophysiology from Sun Yat-sen University. From 2008 to 2009, Dr. Lu received cardiovascular research training as a visiting scholar in the cardiovascular research group at the University of Manchester. to continue her interest in molecular aspects of cardiovascular disease and vascular biology. Work to date has involved the use of rodent models and a genotype-driven approach to developing effective novel molecular treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease. Dr. Lu holds 3 research grants from National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, and Sun Yat-sen University, respectively. She has also served as a Co-PI in 8 projects. Dr. Lu has been supported by the “Thousand, Hundred, Ten Talent Project” of Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Lu has already published 24 original articles in academic journals, including 8 SCI-indexed articles. The largest number of single paper citation is 50 times. She is a reviewer of Journal of Sun Yat-sen University and an Executive Editor of Chinese Journal of Clinical Rehabilitation and China Modern Doctor Magazine. And She also hold a patent.
Research Interest
Dr. Lu’s current research interests include the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases. Her research specifically focuses on the role of autophagy in the progression of vascular calcification and heart failure. Currently, as a principal investigator (PI) of research group.
