Research Interest

Main research interests are forensic identification and molecular autopsy of sudden unexplained death, SUD. No evidence of pathological abnormalities of the heart is found in some sudden heart death by conventional postmortem autopsy. This kind of sudden death is classified as being of unknown aetiology. We took a new staining method for the simultanouse demonstration of nodal cell, myordiac cell, collagenic and elastric fibers was applied on a same sheet of glass and found that compared with control group with non-cardiovascular disease, SUD group were found evident patholoical lesions in cardiac conducting system and further study found that there is abnormal expession pattern of fibronectin,acitn,conexin43 incardiac conducting system from SUD group. Our ongoing program is to further investigate genetic variation or mutation in the pathological cause of SUD. Total 128 papers have been published related to the above research work. Dr. Luo had participated in 7500 forensic cases which were involved in disability evaluation, traffic accidents and industrial accident injury, high fall, death, injury, death, poisoning, suffocation, ripper and medical dispute during 30 years.
